I will be selling my personal belongings in Finland - lots of clothes, shoes, handbags, and also kitchen utensils, appliances, furniture, etc. I am trying to be very organized as I will have just a few days for it in Finland. Can anyone help me with this one? Any good places/newspapers/tips? Thanks a lot.

If on a revenue basis, your best bet may be to purchase a table at a local fleemarket, for a day or two, to sell clothing, utensils, etc. There are internet services such as tori.net for selling furniture, etc, but the going price level is very low, unless real antiques. Even giving away free is better than disposal as garbage. In Toronto the city garb collection carries away even sofas etc, or poor people take them once left on the street, but in most locations in Finland the municapilities charge for taking away bulky items and few are that poor to take someone's old sofa. I paid 60e for the city to take away on old bed in Hki.

Thank you very much for your tip and advice. It is a good idea to contact some local flea markets and ask them for rates, terms and conditions, etc. Even with a small commision, I suppose this would be the most efficient way for me. Thanks again!

One way to get rid of old stuff for free is the church. They can come to your place and pick up your stuff. Of course you won't get any money for it, but at least you won't have to pay to get rid of your things... Especially if they are large, like a bookshelf or a bed.
